Jesse Jackson Jr. used campaign funds to buy himself a $40K Rolex.

and furniture for his home and expenses for a "social acquaintance" and.....

I was just sayin' this story gets better every day.

It’s been nearly three months since Jesse Jackson Jr. resigned from Congress, but now NBC News confirms that Jackson has signed papers in a plea deal within the past several days.

Jackson’s case is being handled by the US Attorney’s office in Washington DC. While no public announcement is expected today, those with knowledge of the investigation believe the loose ends now deal with Jackson’s wife, former Alderman Sandi Jackson, and whether or not she is ultimately charged.
Under the terms of the deal Jackson signed, he pleads guilty and his fate – as to jail time – would be in the hands of a federal judge, not yet assigned. He would repay the government hundreds of thousands of dollars – for items like the $40,000 Rolex watch, travel expenses for a woman he described as a “social acquaintance” and furniture purchased for his home.
Converting campaign contributions for personal use is strictly prohibited by federal law. It opens Jackson up to “not more than 5 years” in prison.

It’s clear Jackson’s move to resign from Congress works in his favor as his attorneys negotiate this plea deal.
Just last month his wife also resigned from her elected position as Chicago’s 7th Ward alderman, however her role in the alleged misuse of campaign funds still may land her in legal trouble. For years she received a $5,000 a month check from her husband as his political consultant.

"Sandi Jackson now feels she was “thrown under the bus by her husband” now that she’s being investigated."

Oh yeah, I'm enjoying this story, and it gets better every day.

Plea Deal For Jesse Jackson Jr. Includes 'Significant Jail Time'

Sun-Times columnist Michael Sneed has learned that federal prosecutors have a plea deal for former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. that calls for what Sneed says is “significant jail time.”
Prosecutors and attorneys for phantom congressman, led by Dan Webb, have been negotiating a plea deal ever since Jackson discovered he was the subject of a federal investigation into how he spent his campaign funds. Webb, who earned his initial reputation in the Operation Greylord scandal, is no stranger to negotiating plea deals for elected officials, having helped negotiate the plea deal for former congressman Dan Rostenkowski in 1994. Prosecutors believe Jackson spent campaign funds on redecorating his home and on a Rolex watch for a female friend. It’s believed Jackson was tipped off on the investigation, which may be a reason why prosecutors are demanding an extended prison sentence
The transfer of campaign funds between his accounts and those of his wife, former 7th Ward Ald. Sandi Jackson, have also come under scrutiny. Sneed and Sun-Times reporter Natasha Korecki reported earlier this week that federal authorities have opened a separate investigation into Sandi Jackson’s campaign fund and her access to her husband’s fund. Sandi Jackson drew a $5,000 per month salary from her husband’s fund and filed a series of amended campaign disclosure forms in December that included $13,500 in previously undisclosed transfers from her husband’s campaign fund to hers.
Jackson Jr., in his November resignation letter, acknowledged the ongoing investigation and worded the letter to shield his wife from prosecutors. Sneed writes Sandi Jackson now feels she was “thrown under the bus by her husband” now that she’s being investigated.
Prosecutors maintain they’re uncertain on whether charges will eventually be filed against Sandi Jackson and will have to take into account the couple have school age children if they do pursue her.
This family has been stirring racial hatred and stealing from their people for decades. Karma can be one bad-ass bitch, can't she Rev Jackson.

This solicitation on top of the billion plus rounds already procured, plus the recent solicitation for 7,000 Select-Fire (aka full-auto) Personal Defense Weapons? What does Homeland need with 1.625 billion rounds of ammo? 7k fully automatic weapons?

President Obama, just who is DHS planning on going to war against?

And another issue to note: This solicitation specifies "Commercial LEAD Training Ammo". Remember that next time you hear some politician or departmental bureaucrat at EPA insisting lead based ammunition be outlawed.

Or maybe DHS is just "panic buying" like the rest of us.

Tony Bennett: DERP

Tony Bennett is old enough to know. He was there. He fought in Europe with the US Army as an infantryman. He knew what the Nazi agenda was, he saw it firsthand. God bless him for his service.

Shame on "demandaplan.org" for exploiting Tony Bennett. Shame for embarrassing this elder gentleman and veteran of WWII. Shame on you for using his name, reputation, career and voice  to advance your agenda when he clearly has reached a place in his life where his memories, thoughts and words are no longer clear. It's more than shameful that CNN repeatedly air the video only to humiliate Tony Bennett and his family just to promote their agenda and ratings.
  • TONY BENNETT: "It's the kind of turn that happened to the great country of Germany, when Nazis came over and created tragic things, and they had to be told off. And if we continue this kind of violence and accept it in our country, the rest of the world's going to really take care of us, in a very bad way"
"kind of turn" ??

"Nazis came over and created tragic things" ???

"the rest of the world's going to really take care of us, in a very bad way" ????

Nazis had to be "told off" ???

Tragic things? Like that Holocaust thing??  Told off? The rifle that the Dept of Defense issued infantryman Benedetto was loaded with something more lethal than harsh words.

Most anyone who has older parents, friends or relatives knows what I'm talking about. People you love, that raised you, gave you everything you needed to become who you are today. People that had long successful careers, created and did great things, and saw friends and family die while fighting evil during WWII. Now these people are in a difficult time in their lives, their memories and thoughts no longer connect in a logical manner. Shame on anyone that would take advantage of the weakness of the elderly to promote their political agenda.

Arlington, Massachusetts is infinitely safer today.

A most brilliant piece of police work uncovered these deadly items at the scene of a drunk-driving crash.
  • Police seized what they said were “six thirty-round machine gun ammunition magazines” from Laidman’s vehicle and one 9 millimeter fifteen-round magazine that was labeled “law enforcement and government use only.” (It's also a crime in Massachusetts to remove the label from your pillow that reads do-not-remove-this-label-under-penalty-of-law)
  • Arlington Police Captain Robert Flynn said the magazines are tan (DON'T LOOK DIRECTLY AT IT! TAN IS THE MOST DANGEROUS OF ALL THE SHADES OF BROWN) ) and appear to for a machine gun (Capt Flynn is clearly unsophisticated in the area of firearms identification), but no rifle (OR AMMUNITION) was found in the vehicle. He said police also found a military uniform (HOLY CRAP, CAMMIES IN THE TRUNK!) in the trunk of Laidman’s car and are looking into whether Laidman has served in the military.
Arlington, MA establishes a new benchmark for deadly weapons bust. The patches in the photo are a nice detail. Nice work fellas, I'm sure everyone there is so proud. In today's panic-buy market that's about $500 worth of "ammunition feeding devices." Maybe Capt. Flynn can sell them and throw the department a swell party at Chuck E. Cheese's.

Leave it to the Mexicans to show Arlington, MA what a real weapons bust looks like:

BATFE form 4473 question 11f: Have you ever been adjucated mentally defective

BATFE form 4473, q.11f: Have you ever been adjucated mentally defective (which includes having been adjudicated incompetent to manage your own affairs) or have been committed to a mental institution? Y/N

Answer yes to that question and you're not getting the gun you intended to purchase. Lie and answer "no', and you may not pass the NICS background check, which may have record of your mental illness if you have ever been committed to a state run facility. But the reporting of mentally ill patients is very incomplete, so odds are good that your mental illness has gone unreported.

Now there's talk of legislation that would force health care professionals to report any patients who "may possibly" be a threat to themselves or others. Turn 'em over to NICS or face possible criminal charges. I'm not saying mentally defective persons should be allowed to buy guns, no absolutely not, mentally defectives should be kept far away from firearms. My point is glaringly obvious. Any person owning a gun or wishing to own a gun is gonna stay away from the psychologist/psychoanalyst/psychiatrist office, for fear of finding their name on a list in the NICS system. Fear that they'll never own another gun, fear that they'll find BATFE or some "law enforcement" branch of Homeland Security in their house at a totally unexpected moment. Those fears will keep them away from the health care they may very well need.

Think about this a moment. Maybe you're having trouble sleeping. Anxiety. Depression. Feeling generally unhappy. Somebody thinks you're "drinking" too much. You could probably use a little help. Maybe you could use a whole lot of help. But you're a gun owner and most definitely do not ever want your name flagged in the NICS system as having been treated for a "mental illness". Maybe you're not a gun owner and just don't like the fact that your government may have your name on a list in some "criminal information system."

You're absolutely no threat to anybody. So what do you do? You avoid getting treatment that could very well improve your life. That's what you and most anyone else in your position is going to do. You will choose to suffer without help for fear you'll lose your rights.

And what about firearm owners who may be living with a mentally ill person? Nancy Lanza, mother of the Sandy Hook shooter paid for her stupidity with her life. Based on what friends and relatives have said, she was fully aware (or should have been) of the fragile state of her son's mental health. Required home schooling. Hours upon hours of violent video games. No social skills. Frustration. Anger. Why would this woman keep guns and ammunition in the home with a son in this dangerous mental state? We'll never know because she is dead. A victim of her own stupidity.

This is a complex issue that's at the core of the "mass murders" we've seen. I don't have the answers. I'm not an expert on the nation's mental health system, other than to say it appears by all accounts to be "broken." But this is what's at the core of this problem. Firearms are not the cause. You first have to answer these questions: Why would someone want to kill large numbers of people they don't know, people who have never done anything to harm them, kill children in a most brutal fashion? What's the killer's motivation? What inspires evil?

You can take away the guns, but the evil and mental illness and motivation to kill will still exist. They'll just find another tool for the killing.

"Tolerance" goes both ways.

You demand "tolerance." You label me a "bigot" if I refuse to accept your belief that gay/lesbian couples be granted all the same rights as hetero couples, yet you refuse to recognize my belief in the right to armed self-defense and the Second Amendment.

So what then, "tolerance" only applies to your issues?

Chicago homicide numbers out of control, Rahm demands any and all action be taken including reclassification of "homicide" to "natural causes"

It's a true story about a 25 yr old doper who got beaten to death (blunt force trauma to the head) by her father. Originally classified by officers on the scene as a homicide, the Medical Examiner would later reclassify the cause of death as "natural causes."

This directly from Second City Cop blog:
  • Loses consciousness after a beating at the hands of her father, dies on scene with paramedics present, classified as a homicide. But a bloody January weekend and a desperate need to keep homicides under 40 results in the highlighted line in picture #1:
  • ME ruled death NATURAL - Pulmonary Embolism, victim was struck in head by father who is in custody.
  • Any doctors want to let the readers know if a beating with documented head trauma might be enough to cause or loosen existing blood clots that might lead to a pulmonary embolism - and death?
  • We imagine that this one is going to disappear down the memory hole in short order. See that unchecked box at the top left the first photo? "Confidential Incident." Expect that to be changed before 9 AM this morning and expect an order to be cut that ALL homicides, death investigations and similar incidents will be checked as "confidential" until such time as our political and department masters deem it worthy of being observed by the masses.
  • Hey Zekman? (fyi: CBS investigative reporter in Chicago) How about instead of picking on coppers going through a tedious process, you look at the manipulation of numbers - you know, like when you used to be an actual reporter. All the numbers Pammy, because you know no one is going to care about a dead black dope head. Maybe you can get Jesse involved to see why Rahman-Noodle and McCompStat are downgrading a case where the only casualty is a dead minority woman.
There's some serious panic at City Hall and CPD HQ. Last year's homicide number went past 500 in the last few day of the 2012, and now even though we're in the midst of a cold wintry season murder numbers are off to a scorching start, already well above last years rate. Chicago's violence "problem" has become national news, much to the embarrassment of Rahm and his former boss and Chicago homeboy Obama. Meanwhile, Rahm is pushing for even more restrictive gun legislation (doesn't Illinois/Chicago already have the most oppressive gun legislation in the nation?) and his Superintendent of Police seems only able to announce weekly tactical changes and manipulate the numbers as best he can.

Mayor McSmirk's Dopey Deputy is in trouble. This is the same idiot who has said he will encourage Chicago cops to shoot legally armed citizens:
